Call Production Sanitation
Sanitary measures are rendered during the production of our duck calls. No duck calls are blown upon during their development. Every call is tuned by placing the insert of the call into my personal testing barrel, in order to tune them. The process requires minimal air usage.
Just assuring you, my customer, that at no point are your duck calls blown upon. Neither do I allow others to blow upon duck calls at any events. Furthermore, no duck call parts such as internal wedges, corks or otherwise are ever installed using unsanitary measures.
Please allow me to expound. It is actually a common practice amongst many callmakers to moisten cork wedges with their mouths to aid insertion. Also, during tuning and marketing measures, many blow upon the very calls they are intending on selling. Others even allow customers to blow upon their calls at events. Be assured that none of those unsanitary acts occur here. If you see me blowing upon a call in a video or at an event, that is a personal call of mine and will not be offered for sale.
I use new reeds, corks and rubber wedges within all calls.
Larger allotment call orders for special occasions, weddings or groups
Large allotment call duck or turkey call orders can be fulfilled to serve as wedding gifts or any special occasion. The prices are dependent upon wood species chosen, complexities of design, time demand and some other factors. Oft times, when ordering an allotment, the individual per unit cost decreases and that reduction is passed down to you. The cost of the project is not hidden. After providing you with an initial price guesstimate, I will provide you with a more definitive cost window after some initial design work and sourcing is laid out.
Contact Chris to discuss your design thoughts. Please note, turn around time can vary depending on status of the shop at the time of your inquiry and design request. All calls and whistles are designed by hand and are not mass produced.

Calls made from your special sentimental woods
Do you have a piece of sentimental wood obtained from an old piece of furniture, family heirloom or from a special tree? How about a piece of lumber from an old farmstead barn or fence post? It might be that I can create you a unique call or gifting from those sentimental woods. There are stipulations to what types of wood can be used and the wood must be air-dried or kiln-dried to a minimum moisture content before we could advance.
I do offer wood stabilization but wood must be below a specified moisture content before doing so.

What is a Louisiana style duck call?
Louisiana style duck calls possess toneboards which can be removed from the insert of the call. They can be fitted with either a single or double reed. The design accommodates variable tuning by allowing manipulation of the reeds and wedge placements along the toneboard. This allows callers to adjust the reed(s) and wedge placement so he/she can achieve the desired tone he/she is seeking.
These type calls are typically double reed, timber type calls which are used when hunting in close quarters hunting environments such as potholes, backwood’s creeks and rivers, swamps and areas of lakes that might be surrounded by a tight tree line.
Double reed, Louisiana style calls typically produce lower toned, mellow quacks which are less likely to suffer from acoustical reverb because typically the toneboards are crafted out of wood, a poured epoxy or other material that is less dense than the toneboards of an ‘open water’ call.
In summary, a Louisiana style is not determined by a ‘single or double reed’, rather whether or not the toneboard can be removed from the insert.
What is an Arkansas style duck call?
Arkansas style duck calls have an all one piece insert (toneboard and insert are permanently bonded). The construction is often made out of one piece of wood or could be made by bonding a toneboard permanently to an insert. These calls are typically louder in tone therefore producing raspier quacks and more volume than most of the double reed type timber calls.
The caller is not awarded the freedom to manipulate the toneboard in order to adjust the tone as with a Louisiana style call but can still adjust the reed a little.
The fact that most Arkansas style calls produce louder, higher pitched/toned quacks accounts for the reason these calls often are referred to as ‘open water’ type calls. They are used in large lake and open water type hunting environments as well as large open fields, where calling to birds at a distance might be advantageous.
Quacky Calls will not be responsible for any accident or injury caused by the use of their calls or products. We strongly recommend whether you are a new hunter or simply an outdoor enthusiast, that you familiarize yourself with and understand the manners in which to utilize this piece of hunting equipment. Furthermore, it is your responsibility to ensure that small children and pets do not play with these game calls, for they contain parts which may present a choking hazard.
